LOVE STORY

Our love story began with a childhood prayer. I loved the healing stories of Jesus most, so I prayed and asked Jesus to prepare a husband for me that was called to become a doctor so together we could heal God’s people. That prayer was answered when I met Clay on July 7, 2007, at FCCLA Nationals in Anaheim, California. Among thousands of students from across the country, we discovered we both lived in Iowa. We instantly connected and shared our first kiss under the Disneyland fireworks, and from that moment, the rest was history.

Clay and I dated long-distance throughout high school, with our hometowns 2 ½ hours apart. We both enrolled at Iowa State, where we joined Greek life. I was a Chi Omega and Clay was in TKE where we pursued our passion for philanthropy through Make-A-Wish and St. Jude Children's Hospital. Even back then, I knew Clay was called to be a pediatric oncologist, and we supported each other through every step of that journey.

After Clay's graduation from medical school at the University of Iowa,  we were married in June 2019 at the Montage in Laguna Beach, surrounded by 75 friends and family who supported us through our 12-year journey. We wanted to create a once in a lifetime experience for our guests to honor their impact on our lives. Planning our wedding is when I knew I wanted to pursue a future creating weddings and events.

Now, as Clay completes his pediatric hematology-oncology fellowship at Phoenix Children’s Hospital, we have the privilege of praying together over his patients. We’ve witnessed miracles and answered prayers, bringing my childhood prayer full circle. We also pray over my wedding couples and events clients.

We believe marriage under God is powerful. Our greatest hope is for every couple we encounter to experience the adventure of a personal relationship with Jesus and the joyful expectation that comes from a Christ-centered marriage.
